Who Should Be Our President?

Which candidate should win and why?  Give 3 substantial reasons to convince me to agree with you.

  1. I believe that Romeny should win. Obama has had four years in office and accomplished nothing. Obama plans to and has spent too much money. Romeny wants to help the coal industry and help establish a more self sufficient America. Romney also wants to do away with the union, which I agree with strongly.

  2. I believe Obama should serve a second term because he is great in traumatic situations, succeeded in ending the Iraq war as he promised he would, and cares more about the middle class along with all American citizens more than Romney does.

  3. I believe that Obama should be president for three substantial reasons. He should be president because he has created 5.4 million new private sector jobs. Romney has spent his career throwing people out of work & is shipping jobs to China. Obamacare is another factor. Obamacare improves the access to health care for many Americans. Romney wants to repeal Obamacare and has no plan to replace it. Obama also strongly supports women's rights, which is very important to me. He has even appointed two women to Supreme Court. Romney, however, does not believe in the women rights that Obama does. He plans to overturn Roe vs Wade. I believe that Obama should be president because he has helped this country & can continue to help. I do not think that Romney is a reliable candidate for president.

  4. I believe that neither candidate should win this election. A reason for this is that during the elections they seemed to get out of hand with eachother and showed a childish way of debating. Yes Obama has made some changes in this countries but the changes happened too quickly. If he is in office again he may be able to change America in a very good way but then again he could also continue with the fast changes and it makes the citizens uncomfortable with him being president. I do not think Romney should be president because he talks a lot about change but is his ideas really leading toward change? His way of changing is just bringing back the policies Obama and the rest of the government have been working on getting rid of. Is bring back the past change? I do not think so.

  5. I don't really care who wins this election. I haven't really kept up with what either of them want to do so i don't want to voice an opinion on it if i don't even know whats going on.

  6. I think Romney should win because Obama has almost doubled the debt in one term. This is a major problem that Romney is planning on fixing by balancing the budget. Romney also wants to lower taxes on middle class and rich and since I am in that catagory of being middle class I like that idea. Romney also wants to increase trade as a form of getting more money for America instead of increasing taxes like Obama.

  7. I do not have an opinion about who wins the presidential election today. I am not educated enough on the issues that have been discussed in debates to make a proper decision. In the debate I found that I sided with both of the candidates on different issues. I believe that both of them have good plans, and have the potential to be good leaders. I think that the voting percentage will be very close because both candidates have good ideas about different issues. I am really glad that all of the political advertisements and commercials will be over today because it is really starting to become bothersome to see all of the spin in the advertisements. I am glad that I am aware of all of the lies and twists involved in politics because of this class.

  8. I believe that Barack Obama should win, because he wants to cut tuition growth in half over the next decade, he plans to grow all of America's energy sources, and he wants grow the economy from the inside out.

  9. Personally I'm more educated on social issues at the moment and as far as who aligns with my beliefs it's Obama. Obama supports marriage equality for all people, he supports womens' reproductive rights ( free birth control etc.), and believes in equal pay for women and men.

  10. One main reson I believe that Romney should win is because Romney wants to give a greater amount of money towards education than Obama does. This could effect me because I will still have about a year of high school left as well as four years of college following that. So education is a big part of my life right now and what would follow through within this next presidential term.

  11. To be honest, I really don't neither one should be chosen. I don't see some true leadership qualities. Both of them seem shady too me. I don't know exactly why but they just do. Obama did help the economy a little but I don't think he is doing the right way. Romney appears to me to be unsure of himself sometimes. Overall, I think both are truthfully targeting the problems the wrong way.

  12. I think Obama should be win this year's election because he seems more fair toward the entire population. Personally I do not agree with abortion but i do believe it is the woman's choice about what she wants to do with her baby, due to other reasons. I believe with Romney as president, some of our rights as humans would be take away, such as our choice of abortion. Another reason i believe Obama should be president, is because he seems like an honest man, and even though the results havent shown yet, i do believe that Obama has done a lot of good in his last four years. Overall, Obama has taken us out of depression and much debt, slowly but surely. I do think these improvements have been much needed for the economy. Lastly, if Obama was president, i feel like he would be more in tune with creating jobs for the middle and lower classes, and not just the upper class (like Romney would). this would create a stimulus in the economy and would create more money circulation in the United States, instead of in other countries like China, India, and the Middle East. It is very important that Obama is a family man, since he seems like he is very much apart of his family. This is important for future education and civil rights bills that will possibly be needed in the near future.

  13. I think that Romney should win. One, because Obama has done some pretty crashing things to our country. Whether it be money or job problems, he should not be ruling our country. Two, I like that Romney wants to give more money to education. Education to me is very important and essentially decides your future, and in the end, the result of our country. Finally, I think that Romney has good plans for medicare and health care, and that's important to everyone here. In the end, I think that Romney seems like a genuine candidate and I think all of his plans are promising.

  14. I believe that Romney should win. Obama has done nothing but elegantly speak about issues he's done nothing to help fix. We have barely surfaced the ground in creating new jobs and our economy is still in shambles. Romney's 5 Point Plan and his theories on the economy and foreign policy will lead our country back on top.

  15. I think Romney should win because he is wanting to keep money in education funds, and that is something that is extremely important right now because our country is so behind in education in comparison to others. Also, Romney supports the Defense of Marriage Act, which is important to me because of personal beliefs. Right now, I think people in America are more worried about gay rights whent here are much bigger issues on the table. I also do not support abortion, like Romney. I think that there are better ways to solve unplanned pregnancy that will be just as effective, if not more.

  16. I think Romney should win this election. The main reason is that he is the best of the two candidates for the economy. Obama can blame Bush all he wants but blaming Bush isn't going to fix the economy. The second reason is that Obama is raising the national debt more than any of his predisors. Romney may not do any better but he can't do any worse. The last reason is that he has not been able to make congress stop bickering. He was made this country more partisan and I believe Romney has a better chance of working with congress.

  17. Romney plans to achieve energy independence by 2020, provide Americans with the skills to succeed through better public schools, and cut the deficit by reducing the size of government and getting the national debt under control so that America remains a place where businesses want to open up shop and hire.
Obama plans to provide "free" healthcare, cut tuition growth, and end the war in Iraq.

  18. I think that Romney should win. Obama has already been serving for four year and obviously, hasn't accomplished much. So I don't really think he should deserve a second chance and that it would do us any good. Romney wants to cut down on taxes. One thing that really gdts to me when it comes to Obama is how we pay taxes just so people who aren't even legal or are supposed to be here get the "free ride" and don't have to do anything while our families are working their butts off. It's not fair and I'm personally tired of seeing it.

  19. I believe that Romney should win because I believe that Romney has a better plan for our country. Obama has had four years to do his "plan" and throughout the debates he's been saying what he is going to do in office, but he's had four years, why hasn't he done it before?
I believe that Romney has a good plan to reduce the size of the federal government, reforming medicare and Social Security and I also believe in what he wants to do with the military in Afghanistan. On his website it states that if he is elected he will work with the commanders of the army to decide what is best for our country.

  20. I don't think either candidate is a perfect match for our country. So if I were going to vote I would just vote for whoever was losing in hopes that it would be a tie. When an election reaches a tie only state delegations can vote. So the voting base would be smaller, but they would also be more educated and would know what is better for the country. I don't think Obama is right for the position because he failed to fix the problems he promised to fix as president and made some worse. I don't think Romney is the best because he doesn't have much experience and his social views are flawed.

  21. If I had the opportunity to vote I would vote for Romney. In the previous election Obama's slogan was "change." I have not seen any change in the country. One of the main issues was that he said he would lower taxes, which he did but only for the lower class. He actually raised taxes for the middle and upper classes. Also, Obama raised the national debt immensely and the economy did not improve. Many people voted for Obama because he was a great speaker, but they had no idea what his plans were. I do not think that Obama is right for our country just because he knows how to to speak in a convincing way. Romney may not be the best candidate either, but did Obama really do anything to help us? I think we should give someone else a chance to help the economy improve.

  22. Obama should win because he plans to continue to create jobs, tax the rich instead of the middle class, and fully end the war in Afghanistan.

  23. I think that Romney should win the election because we haven't really gotten anywhere with Obama in office and our debt is huge. I don't think Obamacare was what was best for our country as a whole and Obama has made other decisions that haven't been the best for our country. I like that Romney has a plan for our future and I don't like that Obama hasn't really told us about any 'plan' he has.

  24. I believe that Mitt Romney is the right person to be our next president. Obama only success in the past four year was the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Other than that he has in no way helped the economy or bussiness growth. Romney has ideas that can help the economy in many ways, as well as bussiness and other affairs in the United States. Romney's main plan of attack on the economic downfall we are in has many ideas that can solve most issues that we have right now, such as high taxation and the high amount of debt we are in. His ideas for the bussiness world are better than any Obama has had. What mainly helps ROmney is that he was a bussiness man and knows when and where to move jobs and how, as well as changing certain objects. His foreign policy ideas are more accurate with what is going on. I feel his ideas can more easily help with foreign affairs that are going on as of right now. I believe Romney is the overall best option when voting for a new Commander in Chief for this Great Country of America.

  25. I think that Romney should win. Obama has had four years to try and fix our economy and whatnot and hasn't done much, so why should he be the president for 4 more years if nothing was done in the first 4? It doesn't make sense to me. Romney has made his own fortune on his own and he knows how to handle money which is what we need considering all the debt we are in now. He will be able to help our economy greatly. He knows how to run a business and how to become very successful so he can help people in that aspect as well. I think he is just a better fit for president overall.

  26. I think Romney should win. Obama has not accomplished anything in his four years so I do not think another four years is going to help. Romney knows how to handle money and he has plans to help the economy. A big reason that I think Romney should be elected is because he is pro-life and that is very important to me. The main reason is that Obama has not fulfilled many of the promises he made when he ran in 2008 so can't let him win another election.
